My girlfriend has a 4-5 year old convertible laptop. It's a HP Pavillion x360 13" that has never really been cleansed. The lover on that has been acquiring progressively louder.
In the first place I was considering opening it up and cleaning it decent, but thought i'd first try and clean the vents with the vacuum. I tried it and not very practically visible dust was separate, however, after turning information technology on I got the error content:

"System Fan (90b) The system of rules has detected that a cooling buff is not operating aright. The system wish shut thrown in 15 seconds."

I've person made-up a few play PCs for myself, upgraded components, and mortal-diagnosed disorganized PSUs etc in the past, though have never worked on a laptop. I'm relatively certain I could overt it and clean/put back the fan - though that said, after doing some reading I may have damaged it with static by using a vacuum thusly I might be tabu of my depth.

Regarding static damage - how likely is this to be the cause? I have upstanding floors and the emptiness cleaner attachment is formative. There is an option to ignore the monition and turn the system connected, I tried that got to the login concealment without payof so the system seems small-grained, merely then I soured it off immediately as I don't want it to overheat.

I was wondering what the best succeeding stairs are to fix it. I think my options are buying a can of compressed zephyr to try and remove dust, opening it and cleaning it As I had originally intended to (and/or replacing the fan), taking it to a laptop repair essence or something else?

If information technology was my possess laptop I'd happily take the risk with opening, just as it's not mine I thought i'd get some counsel.

Thanks.

Then I cerebrate there's a good opportunity the fan International Relations and Security Network't spinning.

Maybe the vacuum pulled something that's block the blades.

I would leastways open it up to get a visual if that's doable. It may Be something truly simple.

So I consider there's a good chance the fan International Relations and Security Network't spinning.

Perhaps the vacuum pulled something that's blocking the blades.

I would at least nonunion it up to get a visual if that's realizable. It may equal something really undecomposable.

Then I think there's a full chance the fan ISN't spinning.

I would at least acceptive it in the lead to get a visual if that's doable. It may be something really simple.

Thanks Jay, I really appreciate it.

I agape it up and blew the diffuse with a straw and much of dust came out, and also found rather a large dust ball that I managed to get out with tweezers - turned it back along and it's back to normal and a lot quieter than before and working as normal.
